James A. Strobel

James A. Strobel, 78, of Dale, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014 at St. Mary’s Medical Center after a short illness.

He was born May 28, 1935 in Dale, Indiana to Joseph and Minnie (Hildenbrand) Strobel.

He married Dorothy A. Brinksneader on June 24, 1961. They were married in St. John Chrystom Catholic Church at New Boston.

He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale, Holy Name Society and Dale American Legion Abe Lincoln Post 444. He also served in the United States Army.

James was owner of Dale Metal Fabricators, Inc. — until his recent retirement — and a lifelong farmer.

During his 53 years of marriage to Dorothy they traveled to 48 states. He also enjoyed going to antique tractor shows and displaying his 1954 Farmall Super MTA and spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy of Dale; children Jeannette Raven and husband Terry of Chrisney, Connie Bender and husband Roger of Gentryville, Lisa Welch and husband Mark of Lincoln City, Jenifer James and husband Rick of Gentryville, Jimmy Strobel and wife Trina of Adyeville, and Mark Strobel of Eugene, Ore.; six grandchildren, Mallory and Kaila Raven, Ethan and Nikki Welch and Blake and Dexter James. He was preceded in death by his parents and nine siblings.

Visitation for James A. Strobel will be held on Wednesday May 28, 2014 from 3 until 8PM CT at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dale.

Funeral services will be held Thursday May 29, 2014 at 10 a.m. CST in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Friends may call from 9 a.m. until service time.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery with military graveside rights. Fuller Funeral Home in Dale are in charge of arrangements.
