Jacqueline L. Bruggenschmidt, 84, formerly of Jasper passed away at The Laurels of Charlottesville Health Care, In Charlottesville, Virginia at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014.
She was born in Jasper, Indiana on May 15, 1930 to Dr. J.J. and Carrie (Kiefer) Schneider. She married Joseph G. Bruggenschmidt on November 30, 1968, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, He preceded her in death on April 28, 2012.
Jacque retired from Springs Valley Bank in Jasper. She began her career in 1948 at The Dubois County State Bank and earned the title of Assistant Cashier in 1964, making her the first female bank officer in Dubois County. She resigned her position just prior to the birth of their daughter to become a full time mother and wife, returning to work many years later when Springs Valley bank opened in Jasper.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and the St. Ann’s Society. Jacque was also active in various veteran organizations, Tri Kappa, and politics throughout her life and was extremely devoted to family.
She is survived by her daughter, Jodi Beaver and husband Craig, of Free Union, Va.; three grandchildren, Hannah, Joseph and William Beaver.
Preceding her in death besides her husband are three sisters, Maxine Thyen, Pauline Fritch and Bernice Fisher.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper, Indiana with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until service time at church.
FUNERAL SERVICES FOR JACQUELINE L. BRUGGENSCHMIDT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR MONDAY, JANUARY 19, 2015, IN ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH AT 11:00 A.M. WITH VISITATION FROM 9:00 A.M. UNTIL SERVICE TIME AT CHURCH.
