Jackie L. Lane, Sr., 81, of Birdseye

Jackie L. Lane, Sr., 81, of Birdseye, passed away at 11:57 p.m., on Thursday, June 9, 2016, at Golden Living Center in Tell City, Indiana.

He was born August 7, 1934, to Jacob and Bertha (Hammond) Lane in Eckerty.  He married Pauline Bayer on June 21, 1956 at the Birdseye Pentecostal Church. She preceded him in death on December 19, 2002.

Jackie was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korean War. He worked for B&G Tire. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline; six brothers, Ernest, Elmer, Earl, Paul, Melvin and Andy Lane; one son-in-law, Phillip Dale Morgan.

He is survived by one daughter, Angela Morgan; four sons and three daughters-in-law, Jack L. Lane, Jr. of Birdseye, Stanley J. (Judy) Lane of Birdseye, Bruce W. (Debbie) Lane of Birdseye and Randal L. (Pennye) of Pensacola, Florida; one sister, Lulabelle Bean of English, Indiana; nine grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Jackie L. Lane, Sr. will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2016, at Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Pastor Bret Eckert will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Birdseye Cemetery. Military graveside rites will conducted by Huntingburg V.F.W. Post #2366 Memorial Detail.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday.
