Jack L. Offil, 69, Huntingburg

Jack L. Offil, 69, of Huntingburg, passed away at 5:47 p.m. Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh.

He was born on June 28, 1957, in Jasper, Indiana, to Stanley B. and Goldia (Hedges) Offil.

Jack was a graduate of Pike Central High School and spent more than 30 years working as a truck driver. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, traveling, and sharing a good joke with those around him. Above all, Jack cherished his family and found great joy in attending and supporting his grandchildren’s activities.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Delema Wilson and Maralou Hawkins; and one brother, Kenneth Offil.

He is survived by three children, Kristen (David) Weaver of Huntingburg, Stanley (Sarah) Offil of Lewisport, Kentucky and Emily (Bryan) Dunbar of Gentryville; one sister, Susie Feldmeier of Boonville; ten grandchildren, Austin (Cammie), Ashlynn, Addison and Emerson Weaver, Kaydence, Taylee, Harlee and Grayson Offil, Cora and Kaysen Dunbar; several nieces and nephews; and by his smokin’ buddies at Wagon Works Apartments.

A funeral service for Jack L. Offil will be held at 7:00 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Rainey Funeral Home in Dale. Jerry Embry will officiate the service.

Visitation will be held from 3:00-7:00 p.m. CDT on Tuesday, prior to the service at the funeral home.
