Jack Herald Powell, 91

Jack Herald Powell, age 91, of Huntingburg, Indiana, passed away at 3:30 p.m., Monday, February 3, 2014 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
He was born February 20, 1922 in Dubois, Indiana to William F. and Margaret (Schott) Powell.
Jack married Frances “Jean” Heowener on April 25, 1944 in Morganfield, Ky.
He was a woodworker and a member of Salem United Church of Christ. He was an avid hunter and trained hunting dogs.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Morris Powell and four sisters, Thelma Maas, Marion Bonifer, Geri Harris and Doris Nathan.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 70 years, Frances “Jean” Powell, of Huntingburg; one son, William F. Powell, of Ferdinand; two daughters, Debbie Haskins, of Huntingburg and Diana L. Louden, of Dale; one brother, Jim Powell, of Columbus, Ind.; and by five grandchildren and two stepgrandchildren.
Private funeral services for Jack Powell were held at 2:00 p.m., EST, on Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Officiant for the service was Reverend Mark West. Burial took place at Mayo Cemetery in Duff, Indiana.
