Jack Hayes, 81, Santa Claus

Jack Hayes, 81, of Santa Claus, passed away Friday, December 15, 2017, at his home surrounded by family.
He was born January 31, 1936, in Petersburg to Clarence and Myrneth (Frederick) Hayes. He married Joanne Reeves on June 25, 1983, in Bloomington.
Jack worked for Kimball International for 35 years and retired as a plant foreman. He then worked at Heritage Hills High School for 11 years. He attended Jasper Church of the Nazarene. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking and being with family and friends.
He is surviving by his wife, Joanne Hayes; children, Rick Hayes of Jasper, Ryan (Jane) Hayes of Zephyrhills, Fla., Rhonda (Steve) Biggs of Cadiz, Ky., and Rashawn (David) Leinenbach of Evansville; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Norma Northernor of Beech Grove and Phanalphia “Nell” Gregson of Indianapolis; and one brother, Gary (Carolyn) Hayes of Otwell.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jeryl Hayes.
Funeral services for Jack Hayes will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, December 20 at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand, with Rev. Darrell Wineinger and Michael Suits officiating.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesday and after 9 a.m. Wednesday.
