Iris C. Vinsek,96 of Ferdinand, died Wednesday April 24th at Scenic Hills Care Center, Ferdinand.

She was born June 1, 1916 in Ferdinand to Alois & Delphine (Linder) Niehaus. She married Norman “Joe” Vinsek on September 3,1938 in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on May 7, 1984.

Iris retired from Stokley-VanKamps and also from Marion Catholic High School in the Chicago area. She was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish. Her hobbies included quilting and gardening, especially flowers & vegetables.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Eugene and Robert Niehaus, and one sister, Evelyn Steczyk.

Survivors include one son, Karl Vinsek of Ferdinand, and one daughter, Judy Wilson of North Richland Hills, TX. Also surviving are two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral service is 9:00 a.m. Saturday in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8:00 p.m. Friday and 7 to 8:30 a.m. Saturday at Becher Funeral Home, Ferdinand.
