Irene “Margie” Ranger, 91

Irene “Margie” Ranger, 91, of Huntingburg, passed away at 10:40 a.m., Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at her home.
She was born September 30, 1922 in Huntingburg, Indiana, to John Oliver and Eva (Long) Trotter. She married Ora A. Ranger on May 3, 1947.
Margie was a homemaker. She was a member of the Holland United Methodist Church and the Women of the Moose in Jasper and was an active volunteer for many years with R.S.V.P., doing blood drives, Christian Ministries and Shared Abundance, and working the Bingo at The Waters of Huntingburg and Core Nursing Homes.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Ora A. Ranger, who died May 29, 1984; stepson, Lloyd Ranger; stepdaughter, June Hoover; three sisters, Bernice Trotter, Dorothy Rikard and Violet Head; four brothers, Alfred, Charles, Calvin and Clarence Trotter; and twin siblings who died in infancy.
Margie is survived by two stepsons, J. Roy Ranger of Huntingburg and Leland (Barb) Ranger of Valparaiso, Ind.; her caregivers,
Cheryl and Jim Ranger of Dale; and by step grandchildren and nieces Marge, Jean and Connie.
Funeral services for Margie Ranger will be held at 1:00 p.m., EDT, on Thursday, June 5, 2014 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Dale Cemetery in Dale, Indiana. Chaplain Jack Neighbors will officiate at the services.
Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 10:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m., E.D.T., on Thursday, the day of the funeral.
