Irene Finlan, 91

Irene Finlan, 91, of Dubois, Indiana, formerly of Trenary, Michigan, passed away at 1:53 p.m. on Monday, April 13, 2015, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.
Irene was born in Denmark on July 13, 1923 to Hans A. and Margaret E. (Petersen) Carstesen. She married Francis Finlan on September 4, 1976. He preceded her in death in November of 2000.
Irene worked at Continental Can Company for over 30 years. She enjoyed fishing, crocheting, working puzzles, and spending time with her great grandkids.
Irene was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was a shining spirit to all those that crossed her path. She was quite a fisherwoman, living most of her adult life in Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. She had a deep faith in God and embraced her church family in Nicholson Valley.
She is survived by one daughter, Trudy Schneider and her husband Gil of Dubois; one son, John Dietrich and his wife Terry of Watertown, Wis.; seven grandchildren, Colleen and Jonathan Dietrich, David and Matthew Schneider, Jill Flowers, Katie Mann, and Kellie Short; Nine great grandchildren, Geena and David Schneider, Jacob, Dylan, and Alex Flowers, Sam and Katelyn Schneider, Claire, and Chandler Short.
Preceding her in death are two sisters and three brothers.
Private services will be held at a later date.
