Irene Ardella Blessinger, 96
Irene Ardella Blessinger, age 96, of Jasper, passed away at 6:30 p.m. , Wednesday (July 4th, 2012) at the Waters of Huntingburg.
Irene was born on March 12, 1916 in Jasper, Indiana to Edward and Louise (Long) Mendel. She married Walter Blessinger on February 18, 1936 and he preceded her in death on July 21, 1973.
Irene was a homemaker and a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper. She belonged to the Holy Family Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
She enjoyed baking, canning, quilting, embroidering and being with her family.

Preceding Irene in death besides her husband are four sons, John, Ronald, James, and Charles Blessinger; two daughters, Phyllis Blessing and Margaret Blessinger; one sister, Mary Ann Mendel; brothers, Alois, Charles, Urban, Robert, and HIlbert Mendel.
Funeral services for Irene Blessinger will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday (July 7th, 2012 ) at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.
Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m., Friday (July 6th) at the Becher-Kluesner downtown Chapel in Jasper. The Holy Family Sodality of the Blessed Virgin Mary will conduct a rosary at 4:00 p.m.
