Irene A. Persohn age 58 of Schnellville passed away at 8:00 A.M. Friday June 3, 2011 at her home.

She was born December 19, 1952 in Jasper to: Othmar and Florentine (Seger) Mathias.

She married Wayne Persohn October 10, 1970 at Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper.

She worked at Best Chairs where she retired.

She was a graduate of JHS Class of 1970.

Memberships include: Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Ann’s Society, Schnellville Conservation Club, and Schnellville Community Club.

Surviving:

  • Her husband Wayne C. Persohn of Schnellville
  • 1 daughter-Mrs. Clint (Jayme) Fest of St. Anthony
  • 2 sons-Kent and his wife Anette Persohn and Keith and his wife Jill Persohn both of Schnellville.
  • Parents-Othmar and Florentine Mathias of Jasper
  • 1 sister-Mrs. Gary (Charlene) Sermersheim of Ireland
  • 3 brothers-Denny Mathias, and Larry Mathias both of North Carolina, and Paul Mathias of Mississippi
  • 3 grandchildren

Preceded in death by her mother and father-in-Law Larry and Mary Persohn, and her God parents-Betty and Robert Mathias.

Visitation will be held from 12:00-7:00 P.M. Sunday at the Becher & Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville with burial to follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to:Lange-Fuhs Cancer Center, Dubois County Food Bank, Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
