Ireland resident charged with possession of child porn
An Ireland man was arrested on multiple charges of child exploitation and child pornography by detectives with the Jasper Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
According to police, the task force received multiple related cybertips in February about a substantial amount of child pornography being stored/uploaded/downloaded/shared by an individual in the Dubois County area.
After a lengthy investigation, Jasper Police Department detectives identified the individual as Kyle Lee Eason of W. South Street.
Police executed a search warrant on March 3 at Mr. Eason’s Ireland residence. Members of the Knox County High Tech Crime Unit, utilizing their Electronic Storage Detection K-9, Bogey, assisted with the search. ESD K-9s are utilized to locate hidden electronics in a similar way that Narcotics Detection K-9s find illegal drugs. With Bogey’s help, numerous electronic devices were located and seized from the residence.
Mr. Eason was subsequently arrested and transported to the Dubois County Security Center on three felony counts of Level 4 child exploitation; four Level 5 felony counts of child exploitation; 15 counts of Level 5 felony possession of child pornography; and eight counts of Level 6 Felony possession of child pornography.
The investigation is ongoing, and more charges could be added later.
