Ireland Boy Scouts learn about flight and explore cool airplanes at special Huntingburg Airport event
On Saturday, October 22, HNB Terminal Corporation held the second in a year-long series of aviation-related programs at the Huntingburg Airport titled “Model Building for Young Aviators”. The events are sponsored by the Dubois County Flight Services and The Wolf Aviation Fund
This time the local aviators hosted 17 members of Cub Scout Pack 130 from St. Mary’s Church, Ireland, lead by Jamie Levy and Jeff Libbert. The scouts participated in a classroom presentation by flight instructor Randy Caldemeyer, and personally toured four different private aircraft, ranging from personal transports to aerobatic biplanes. Each future aviator constructed a model aircraft and enjoyed lunch off the grill at the HNB Terminal building.
HNB Terminal Corp is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of general aviation at the Huntingburg Airport.
Upcoming events are open to the public, and will include “Aircraft in Review- SR22” and “Fly-in Bike Out” in Spring 2012.
