INDOT to hold public open house for upcoming Huntingburg State Road 64 project

Indiana Department of Transportation officials will host a public open house meeting at the Huntingburg Public Library on Wednesday, July 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. to discuss a project impacting Huntingburg.
INDOT will provide information and answer questions about the planned paving and right-sizing of State Road 64 through Huntingburg.
According to INDOT Southwest Public Relations Director Gary Brian, right-sizing is when INDOT reduces lanes to increase safety by slowing speeds through a community.
“This would be similar to what folks in town see on U.S. 231, with a lane in each direction and a middle turn lane,” he explained in an email. “
While Brian did not have the exact area of the work available, he stated it was important to attend the meeting.
“This work will impact those who live/work along 64 in town, so we do encourage folks to come to the meeting to understand the scope of the project,” he added.
