Indiana Utility to retire 2 of 4 remaining coal-fired units in Petersburg

The Indianapolis company that operates the Petersburg powerplant plan on shutting down two of the four coal-fired units by 2023. The Petersburg station’s generating capacity is 1,700 megawatts, the largest generator of the company’s stations but it has been hit with more than a dozen environmental violations over the past five years.
