Indiana State Police Jasper District welcomes newly appointed detective
Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony Scott promoted Senior Trooper Hunter Manning from the Evansville District to serve as a Detective at the Jasper District, effective August 2, 2026.
Detective Manning, a native of Pike County and a 12-year veteran of the Indiana State Police, graduated from the 73rd Indiana State Police Recruit Academy on May 1, 2014. Following graduation, Detective Manning was assigned to the Evansville District, where he has served for the past 12 years. During his tenure, Detective Manning primarily patrolled Pike County, building strong relationships within the communities he served while demonstrating a steadfast commitment to public safety.
Throughout his career, Detective Manning has been recognized for his outstanding service and dedication. In 2016, he received the Evansville District Top DUI Enforcement Award, and in 2017, he was honored as the Evansville District Trooper of the Year.
In addition to his patrol responsibilities, Detective Manning has served numerous specialized assignments, including the Mobile Field Force (Riot Team), Field Training Officer, Field Tactical Techniques Instructor, Tactical Medical Instructor, and Firearms Instructor. His extensive training and leadership experience have prepared him well for his new role as a detective.
Trooper Manning resides in Pike County with his wife, Lindsey, and children.
