Indiana State Police arrest 346 impaired drivers during weekend OWI patrols

Friday and Saturday night the Indiana State Police conducted statewide patrols targeting impaired and dangerous drivers.

Statewide The Indiana State Police had the following activity:

  • Traffic Arrests (tickets) – 4105
  • Warnings – 6646
  • DUI Arrests – 346
  • Total Criminal Arrests – 360

Troopers from the Jasper District had the following enforcement activity for the Friday and Saturday night patrols.  The Jasper State Police Post covers Crawford, Daviess, Dubois, Martin, Orange, Perry, and Spencer Counties.

  • Traffic Arrests (tickets) – 335
  • Warnings – 122
  • DUI Arrests – 13
  • Total Criminal Arrests – 12

The Indiana State Police will continue to conduct saturation patrols and sobriety checkpoints to apprehend impaired drivers and to deter others from drinking and driving. Motorists encountering another vehicle being operated erratically are encouraged to dial 911 or call the Jasper Indiana State Police Post at (812) 482-1441 or 800-742-7475 and be prepared to give a description of the vehicle, location, and direction of travel.
