Huntingburg working on tearing down another eyesore

103 S. Geiger

Huntingburg – Another dilapidated building was discussed at the Huntingburg Board of Public Works and Safety meeting.

Mayor Dennie Spinner informed the board of the next building being considered for demolition at 103 S. Geiger Street. Code Enforcement Officer Steve Collett and City Attorney Phil Schneider told the board that contact has been made with the owners of the property. They told the City that they would work to get the property demolished but were dependent on having the money to complete the work.

The board affirmed the order and expects significant action or demolition of that property by November.

According to Mayor Spinner, if that does not happen, in November the board will have to decide if they need to have the city take action on it by accepting bids for the demolition and then moving forward.
