Huntingburg to celebrate new fitness court with ribbon-cutting, business competition

Huntingburg — The city will mark the opening of a new outdoor Fitness Court at Charles C. Niehaus Memorial Park with a ribbon-cutting Nov. 5, followed by a competition among local businesses.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and will officially celebrate the addition of the Fitness Court, a new outdoor fitness facility designed to encourage physical activity and provide community members with another opportunity to prioritize their health and wellness.

The Battle of the Businesses, a competition designed to test strength, endurance and teamwork, will start right after the ribbon-cutting.

The city built the Fitness Court in partnership with the National Fitness Campaign. Individuals, businesses and organizations also donated to the project, according to the city.

“The addition of the outdoor Fitness Court, along with digital wellness programming, demonstrates a tremendous commitment to the health and wellbeing within the community,” Mitch Menaged, founder of the National Fitness Campaign, said in a news release.

The city invites the public to attend and cheer on the teams.
