Brian Asbell examines his home. He received the call at work last night that his wife Donna and daughter Alex were in the bathroom. "Oh God the roof caved in" was the last thing he heard. He rushed home to find them okay but a portion of the Circle S convenience store covered his house.

Another storm, another wind, waiting for the determination as to whether it is another tornado. Regardless, south of First Avenue from Chestnut Street to Washington Street in Huntingburg, residents are scratching their heads and checking out more damage from last night’s storm.

Sherri Byers was at home last night. “My son called from Selvin and asked if the storm had got here yet. I told him no and he said ‘get in the basement now!’ We ran downstairs and then a loud whooshing sound went for about three to five seconds and then you could hear a pin drop.”

Mac McFarlane had a bad feeling all day yesterday he told neighbor Kenya Belcher. He was at his sister's house last night when his home was destroyed. It is now leaning in pieces against Bill and Jan Wampler's house and garage.

Gary Collins came out last night to get his mom Violet from her home. In the morning light he found bricks from his chimney blown across the street.

Kurt Hoing leaned against the leaning fence at the home he is purchasing from his dad, Dave Hoing. "They were coming out to fix the roof from the last storms, now there is a new hole in the roof."

  1. Hard to believe my family and I were watching storm and not knowing damage happening only 2-4 blocks from us. We can only thank GOD that all is well at our home and feel for all that had damage.

  2. WE LIVE ON 8TH STREET AND HAD NO IDEA THINGS GOT LIKE THAT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF TOWN.IT WAS WIDY AD RAINY WHERE WE WERE BUT I SURE DID NOT THINK THIS WAS HAPPENING AT ALL.I THANK GOD NO ONE WAS KILLED OR HURT.GOD IS GOOD
