Huntingburg resident arrested in connection with attempted murder investigation

A Huntingburg woman was arrested and charged in connection to an attempted murder investigation that began in December 2022.

According to Indiana State Police, investigators established probable cause to arrest Alicia Kellems, 33, of Huntingburg, for her alleged involvement in the attempted murder of an individual. Perry County Prosecuting Attorney’s office issued a warrant for her arrest and troopers took her into custody Wednesday evening. Kellems was transported and lodged in the Perry County jail, where she is being held on bond.

Kellems is facing the following counts: Level 3 felony aggravated battery when the assault poses a substantial risk of death; Level 3 felony conspiracy to commit aggravated battery when the assault poses a substantial risk of death; Level 3 felony aggravated battery when the assault causes serious permanent disfigurement; Level 3 felony conspiracy to commit aggravated battery when the assault causes serious permanent disfigurement; Level 5 felony battery resulting in serious bodily injury; Level 5 felony conspiracy to commit battery resulting in serious bodily injury; Level 5 felony battery by means of a deadly weapon; and Level 5 felony conspiracy to commit battery by means of a deadly weapon.

All suspects are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
