Huntingburg promotes two officers

Huntingburg — At Thursday’s Huntingburg Public Works meeting Mayor Denny Spinner announced two officers’ promotions.
Sgt. Detective Ronnie Bowman will be assuming the newly created assistant chief position and Sgt. Christian Gogel will be taking over Bowman’s vacated position as detective.
Bowman has 14 years experience as an officer. He has been on the department for 8 years and has served as detective since March of this year. Gogel has been with Huntingburg for 14 years.
Bowman stated he was excited to take on a new challenge and be back on patrol. He will also be the Indiana Data and Communications Systems (IDACS) coordinator for the department. He will be working on the mobile technology the department uses and ensuring it is up to date.
Gogel indicated he was excited to take on the new challenges as the department’s detective.
The move replaces on patrol officer with the Asst. Chief, who will fulfill both roles in the new position.
