Huntingburg police asking for public’s help after suspicious packages found

The Huntingburg Police Department is seeking the individual in the photo above as part of their investigation into suspicious packages found Wednesday.
Police were called to Fourth Street at about 1:44 p.m. for the report of a suspicious package in the alley along the 300 block of East 4th Street. Officers responded and after viewing the package, call for assistance from the Indiana State Police Explosive Ordinance Disposal team.
The team investigated the package and made it safe. According to Asst. Chief Brad Kramer the package was made to look like an explosive device and it contained combustible materials.
Police from several departments including the Indiana State Police and Dubois County Sheriff’s Office then made a sweep of the area and located a second suspicious package. This package was also investigated by the state EOD team. It was deemed safe.
Both packages were taken into custody by the Huntingburg Police.
The department is also investigating two explosions that occurred recently in the city and is asking for help from the public.
