Huntingburg Mayor presents at “Thriving Downtown” Conference
Huntingburg Mayor Denny Spinner served as a panelist during High Performance Government Network’s “Thriving Downtown Conference” on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in Anderson, Indiana.
Spinner presented information during the case study panel “Utilizing State Resources to Develop a Plan,” along with Jon Craig, Deputy Director, Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs, and Mayor Greg Goodnight, City of Kokomo.
The purpose of the conference was to help communities gain an understanding of critical factors to downtown development, improve access to resources, build partnerships and learn how to develop strategies for success. Mayor Spinner’s presentation highlighted efforts in Huntingburg to use state resources for downtown improvement efforts.
“When HPG Network invited me as a panelist for their upcoming conference, I was pleased to agree,” Spinner said. “The fact that they recognized the efforts being made in Huntingburg is very encouraging, and I welcomed the opportunity to highlight our already vibrant downtown, as well as our ideas for future enhancement.”
