Huntingburg man arrested in connection to explosions
A Huntingburg man was arrested Thursday evening as police continued their investigation into two suspicious packages found around Fourth Street.

According to police, Jordan Brown, 35, was arrested on a preliminary count of Level 5 felony possession of a destructive device.
Brown was located while police were continuing the investigation into the suspicious packages found Thursday. One of those packages was made to look like an explosive device and contained combustible materials, police said. More details on this incident are found at this link.
At about 8 p.m., detectives were canvassing the Market Street area when they received an anonymous tip regarding a subject fitting the description of the individual in the photo they had shared earlier in the day.
Officers located the subject’s residence and identified Brown as the individual in the photo. Detectives obtained a search warrant for Brown’s residence and then took Brown into custody.
Police have been investigating a pair of loud explosions that occurred on December 20 and January 1. On December 20, an explosion occurred near the intersection of Fifth and Geiger streets.
Then on January 1, police received a report of a loud explosion near the intersection of First and Chestnut streets. When officers responded to the area, they did not locate anything. Neighbors in the area described hearing a very loud boom and seeing a pickup truck (no further description provided) leaving the area.
During the investigation, police say they determined Brown was responsible for detonating a homemade explosive device on December 20, 2020.
Brown was arrested and booked into the Dubois County Security Center.
The Huntingburg Police Department is still investigating the suspicious package that was in the 300 block of East Fourth Street on January 6, 2021.
