Huntingburg man arrested for sexual battery; strangulation

Huntingburg officers arrested Kenneth A. Ferguson, 52, of S. Chestnut Street on a warrant charging him with felony counts of sexual battery and strangulation.
Ferguson has been registered on the county’s sexual offender register website since 2009. He has a previous arrest for sexual battery, strangulation, and criminal confinement.
According to court documents, Ferguson was arrested for an incident that occurred September 14 in which he met the female victim at a Huntingburg establishment. When Ferguson was supposed to be taking her home, he drove to a county road and touched the victim in a sexual manner.
When she attempted to exit the vehicle, Ferguson grabbed her by the throat and threw her back into the vehicle, according to court documents. The victim then attempted to flag down a passing truck and the truck followed Ferguson’s vehicle to the Huntingburg City Park, where the victim was able to escape.
Ferguson was booked into the Dubois County Security Center Friday.
