Huntingburg man arrested for child molestation

Huntingburg — Huntingburg officerrs arrested 24-year-old Franscisco J. Perez, of 2030 Lincoln Drive, Apartment 22, Huntingburg, on an arrest warrant for Class A felony child molestation.

In August, Huntingburg detective Sgt. Christian Gogel launched an investigation into allegations that Perez molested a girl under the age of 14 beginning in December of 2012 and ending in mid-April of 2013.

The Dubois County Department of Child and Family Services received the initial complaint regarding the molestation and worked with the detective in the investigation.

Det. Sgt. Gogel, with Dubois County Deputy J. Monarrez, interviewed Perez on October 9 and on October 21, an arrest warrant was filed through the Dubois County Circuit Court and issued for Perez’ arrest.

Officers served the arrest warrant at Perez’ residence at the Lincoln Village Apartments at 1:15 p.m.. He was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Dubois County Security Center without bond at 1:28 p.m.
