Huntingburg man arrested for child molestation

Wednesday, a Huntingburg resident was arrested on a warrant for molesting a seven-year-old girl.

On Friday, April 19, Huntingburg Detective Sgt. Christian Gogel received information about the alleged molestation that had occurred from April 1 to April 14. With the assistance of the Department of Child Services, he launched an investigation into the allegations.

Detective Sgt. Gogel spoke with Bill J. Saileau, 37, of 609 E. First St., Huntingburg, at the Huntingburg Police Department about the incident on April 19 at 10:30 a.m.

After further investigation Detective Sgt. Gogel applied for a warrant through the Dubois County Circuit Court for the arrest of Saileau which was granted Wednesday. Gogel and Huntingburg Officer Andy Hammack went to Saileau’s home at about 2 p.m. and placed him under arrest for Level 4 felony child molestation.

Saileau is lodged in the Dubois County Security Center on a
$5,000 cash-only bond.
