The Huntingburg Library hosted a mobile food distribution on Friday, February 23, in conjunction with the Tri-State Food Bank, a non-profit organization based in Evansville that serves 33 counties in Illinois, Indiana, and Kentucky. A total of 100 boxes and 66 five-pound bags of oranges were provided for the distribution.

From 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., Library staff distributed 92 food boxes containing such items as cornbread, macaroni and cheese, cranberry sauce, soup, canned vegetables, and stuffing. Bags of oranges were also included. All who received the distribution were asked to note their name and address in writing. Distributions were limited to a maximum of two households per vehicle. Household members had to be present in the vehicle to receive the distribution.

Recipients began lining up in the Memorial Gym parking lot at 9:30 a.m. for the distribution, which was offered on a first-come, first-saved basis. At the conclusion of the distribution, library staff took the eight remaining unclaimed boxes to Shared Abundance.

Originally planned to take place on Fifth Street at the curbside adjacent to the Library, the distribution location was later moved to the Memorial Gym parking lot at the request of the City of Huntingburg. This was to accommodate the volume of traffic expected, according to library director Lisa McWilliams.
