Huntingburg in national competition for “Prettiest Painted Places”
Huntingburg is one of 193 communities in the U.S. competing for “Prettiest Painted Places” honors.
Huntingburg joins Madison, Downtown Kendallville and Richmond as the four Indiana entrants in the contest sponsored by the Paint Quality Institute (a Dow Chemical Company subsidiary).
To be considered for the contest communities had to submit 15 images of their community exhibiting homes and buildings with attractively painted exteriors.
Over the next few weeks judges with expertise in color selection, exterior painting, and home improvement will review the entries and even make visits to some sites to determine regional and national honors. The finalist will be announced in late September and the 12 “Prettiest Painted Places” will be revealed in mid-October.
This is the third time the competition has taken place, the last time was in 2000.
Huntingburg joins such well-known places as Cape Cod, Massachusettes and Napa, California. Here is a complete list of entrants.
