Huntingburg hires a new veteran police officer

Huntingburg announced its newest police officer today at the monthly Board of Public Works meeting. Jeremy Graham is a Spencer County resident and a 6 year veteran of the Evansville Police Department.
According to Huntingburg Chief of Police Ron Drew he is glad that Graham is joining the police department. “I feel it will be good for the department and good for the city. He came with excellent references from the Evansville Police Department. I personally am impressed with the way he carries himself and his personality. Plus he has the advantage of all he experienced in Evansville.”

Graham is excited about moving back to the area. “All my family is up here, my wife and I graduated from Heritage Hills, so it will be good to get back up here.”
Graham will be going through qualifications for the police department before he will be on patrol. According to Chief Drew he should be on shift in three to four weeks.
Graham stated he is looking forward to working in the community. “It’s a different feeling in Huntingburg compared to Evansville. People know you around here and are friendly, but down in Evansville it seemed like everyone was suspicious or intimidated by our presence.”
Mayor Marvin Belcher was happy to welcome the new addition. “He’s a great guy and we are lucky to have him as an officer. He brings a lot of experience and ideas to the department from his time in Evansville.”
