Huntingburg, Ferdinand Wendy’s closing
Two Dubois County Wendy’s locations are part of the national company’s planned reduction in the number of stores.
Huntingburg’s Wendy’s closed at the end of business on Wednesday, March 11, and the Ferdinand location is slated to close after March 15.
The Dublin, Ohio-based company reported sales fell 10 percent during the final quarter of 2025. In November, Wendy’s said it planned to close 5 to 6 percent of their stores in an effort to bolster the performance of the remaining stores.
During an investor conference call last year, Ken Cook, Wendy’s interim CEO and chief financial officer, said many of the stores closing were underperforming.
