Huntingburg Council meeting Nov. 10, 2020
The Huntingburg Common Council met for its regular meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020, at 5:30 p.m. and took the following actions.
- Approved advertising requests for proposals for a grant administrator for the blight elimination program grant from the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs. According to Mayor Denny Spinner, the city could get up to $500,000 (with a 10 percent match) to acquire and purchase the Dairyland property at 802 N. Main Street once the program is up and running again. The administrator will apply for grants for the program and the cost of the administrator would be included in the grant.
- Approved a wage increase of 1.5 percent for employees.
- Approved a salary increase of 1.5 percent for elected officials. This equated to an additional $165 split between the five council members annually and $552.63 for the mayor and $552.63 for the clerk/treasurer.
- Approved hiring Glenn Landstrom as a Huntingburg firefighter.
