Hoyt H. King, 88, of Birdseye, Indiana, passed away at 7:16 p.m., on Monday, November 17, 2014, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper.

He was born October 19, 1926 in Birdseye, Indiana, to Guffy and Opal (Eckert) King. He married Avis Nadine Brown on March 1, 1951 in White Cloud, Indiana.

Hoyt was a retired mechanic having worked for the Olinger Construction Company and Rudolph Paving. He was a member of the Teamsters Union, American Legion, and lifetime member of the Birdseye Conservation Club. Hoyt served in the United States Army during World War II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Avis Nadine King, who passed away July 13, 2010; two brothers, Ray King and Gene King; and one grandson, Zachary King.

He is survived by two sons and two daughter-in-laws, Alan R. and his wife Kathy King of Huntingburg, and Brian L. and his wife Donna King of Birdseye; by three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Hoyt H. King will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at the Birdseye Cemetery in Birdseye.  Reverend Albert Madden will officiate at the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 4:00-8:00 p.m., on Wednesday; and also from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Thursday morning.
