Homegrown Holland fest this weekend

The Town of Holland will be alive with excitement this weekend as the Holland Community Fest themed “Homegrown Holland” will be underway Friday through Sunday.

The annual fest features free live entertainment. This year Retro Shock headlining on Friday night and Eighty-Sixt on Saturday night.

New this year to go along with the theme will be a Barn Dance on Friday night and a Farm-to-Table Breakfast on Saturday morning.

The young and young at heart will be excited for something Holland has not seen in a very long time, carnival rides. There will be six rides available to cover all ages on both Friday and Saturday.

Several free family events are also being offered including Silly Safaris animal show, Prairie Farms ice cream eating contest, obstacle course, tractor pull and many more.

The fest will also be alive with competition as there will be a dunk tank with local celebrities, horseshoe tournaments, cornhole tournaments, 3-on-3 contests, keg toss competition, a dog show, 5K, kid’s fun run, little/junior miss & mister contest, a chili cook-off and a mechanical bull.

The opening ceremony is Friday night. It will showcase the fest’s theme with a dedication to local agriculture.
