The Miss Holland Community Festival Scholarship Pageant will be held Sunday evening, September 7th at 6:00 p.m. in the Southridge High School Auditorium. Admission is $5.00 per person, ages 12 and up.

Historically, the town festival committee has only held the pageant on milestone years. They have held pageants in 959 during the 100th anniversary (Queen Norma Lee (Ring) Arend); 1984 on the 125th (Queen Darla (Kamman) Werne); 1994 on the 135th (Queen Nicole (Smith) Murphy); and 2009 during our Sesquicentennial (Queen Lauren Sergesketter (not married).

This is the town’s 155th year.

The committee is able to provide cash awards or scholarships to our Queen ($500), 1st Runner-up ($200), and 2nd Runner-Up ($100). They will be naming Miss Congeniality and Miss Photogenic titles as well.

The scholarship awards are only possible due to the generous donations made by the ommunity and county donors and sponsors, as well as committee fundraising. The pageant will be divided into four categories including the pre-pageant interview and three on-stage categories, “Heritage or Hobby” theme wear coordinating with our “Celebrating our Community and Heritage” theme, casual wear modeling, and formal evening gown.

In addition to the generous financial donations, Single Thread Boutique has partnered with the fest to provide the modern clothing styles for the casual wear on-stage category.

BC Bridal was the generous sponsor of the crowns, and Stacy Voegerl of Holland was the Miss Photogenic photographer.
