Holland Community Fest opens tonight

Holland will celebrate its rich history with the Holland Community Fest this weekend.

Opening this evening, the festival hosts many family fun events and social gatherings at the Holland Park.

5 p.m. – midnight Beer garden open
5:30 – 7:30 p.m. Terry Lee & The Rockaboogie Band live music
6 p.m. Opening ceremony
6:30 p.m. Little Miss & Mister and Junior Miss & Mister contests with Dance Central Academy at intermission
8 p.m. – midnight The Highroad live music

Saturday
7 a.m. Holland fifth-grade breakfasts on sale
8 a.m. Tulip Trot 5K run and walk
9 a.m. Food and game booths open, Tulip tourney wiffle ball tournament registration
9:30 a.m. Dog show sponsored by Happy Tails
11 a.m. Southridge High School FFA kiddie tractor pull
11:30 a.m. Chili judging
Noon Cornhole tournament (registration at 11), ice cream eating contest
1 p.m. Silly Safaris
1:30 – 6 p.m. Homebrew contest (1:30-3:30 p.m. submit entries, 4-6 p.m. judging and 6 p.m. awards)
