Hilda T. Ebert, 92

Hilda T. Ebert, 92, Ferdinand, died Sunday, May 17, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper.

She was born in Adyeville on April 16, 1923, to Joseph and Catherine (Jacob) Schaefer. She married Othmar J. Ebert on May 22, 1945, in St. Meinrad. He died Aug. 19, 2014.

Mrs. Ebert was a homemaker and helped her husband on the family farm. She was a member of the St. Meinrad American Legion Auxiliary, St. Ferdinand Parish, Daughters of Isabella and Ferdinand Senior Citizens. She enjoyed reading, quilting and playing cards.

She is survived by a son, Sylvan Ebert and wife Linda of Greenwood; four daughters, Norma Murray and husband Jim of Kokomo, Diane Balbach and husband David of Dale, Sandy Meyer and husband Steve of Lexington, Ky., and Terri Carson and husband Jeff of Carmel; a son-in-law, Gene Braunecker of Huntingburg; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Marlene Braunecker, and five brothers, Raymond, Robert, Hilbert, Richard and Othmar Schaefer.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Ferdinand. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday and 7 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand.
