Hilda L. Small, 91

Hilda L. Small, 91, of Huntingburg, formerly of Ireland, Indiana, passed away at 8:02 a.m., on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at the N.H.C. Healthcare Facility in Glasgow, Kentucky.

She was born April 21, 1923 in Boone Township, Indiana, to Samuel J. and Laura (Bauer) Himsel.

She married John Wesley “Butch” Small on May 8, 1943 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Boone Township.

Hilda was a retired bookkeeper for the John Martin Group in Huntingburg and former bookkeeper for the Huntingburg Housing Authority. She was a member of the Huntingburg United Methodist Church.

Hilda was preceded in death by:  her husband, John Wesley “Butch” Small, who passed away February 23, 2003; three brothers, John Himsel, Everitt Himsel and Luther Himsel; and three sisters, Frances Conolty, Lucille Jones and Freda Weisman.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Samuel “Sam” (Karen) Small of Glasgow, Ky.; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ellen “Mag” (Wayne) Jones of Murray, Ky.; three grandchildren, Adam Harrison (Leslie) Small, Beau Mathew (Melissa) Jones and Brock Wesley Jones; and two great grandchildren, Molly Mae and Brody Harrison Jones.

Funeral services for Hilda L. Small will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at the Huntingburg United Methodist Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery in Ireland, Indiana.  Pastor Lee Campbell will officiate at the services.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 3:00-8:00 p.m., on Tuesday; and also at the Huntingburg United Methodist Church from 9:00-10:00 a.m., Wednesday morning.
