Hilda C. Klein, 96, of Jasper

Hilda C. Klein, 96, of Jasper, passed away at 11:15 p.m. Thursday, August 17, 2017, in Cathedral Health Care in Jasper, Indiana.

She was born in Jasper on August 31, 1920, to Albert G. and Mayme (Hochgesang) Mehringer. She married Jerome H. Klein on June 2, 1942, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

Hilda retired from Seibert’s Clothing Store in Jasper where she worked in the alterations department. She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Daughters of Isabella and the St. Anne Society.

She is survived by her husband, Jerome H. Klein; one daughter, Louise Ann Older (William) of Colbert, Wash.; one son,
James Klein (Sherry) of Louisville, Ky.; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren

Preceding her in death is one son Donald Klein; one grandson, James Klein Jr.; two sisters, Marilyn Mehringer who died in infancy and Bernie Meyer; and five brothers, Cyril, Dennis, Hilbert, Cletus and Wilfred Mehringer.

Funeral services for Hilda C. Klein  will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2017, in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 21, 2017, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper.
Rosary will be held at 1:45 p.m. by the D of I’s and the St. Anne Society at the funeral home.
