Hilda B. Kunz, 91, Huntingburg

Hilda B. Kunz, 91, Huntingburg, passed away at 1:50 a.m., on Sunday, January 1, 2017, at The Villas of Guerin Woods in Georgetown, Ind.

She was born April 23, 1925, in Dubois County, Indiana to Joseph and Clara (Schilling) Blessinger; and in 1946 was united in marriage to Othmar J. Kunz in Jasper.

Hilda worked as a seamstress and was employed at Gossards, Best Chairs and the Jasper Glove Factory.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg.

Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, Othmar J. Kunz, who died on April 18, 1985; three brothers, Wilfred Blessinger, Cletus Blessinger and Gilbert Blessinger; and one sister, Beatrice Kazmerack.

She is survived by three sons and three daughters-in-law, Don (Gail) Kunz of Georgetown, Ind., Mike (Lucy) Kunz of Carmel, Ind. and Ed (Alice) Kunz of Martinsville, Ind.; by eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Hilda B. Kunz will be held at 11:00 a.m., EST on Saturday, January 7, 2017, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  The funeral Mass will be celebrated by Reverend Fr. Ryan Hilderbrand.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday the day of the funeral.  Memorial contributions can be made to The Villas of Guerin Woods located at 8037 Unruh Drive, Georgetown, IN 47122.
