Herman Mills, 75, St. Meinrad

Herman Mills, 75, of St. Meinrad, passed away at his home on October 14, 2026.

Herman was born on January 23, 1951, to Ed and Elsie (Jones) Mills. He married Sue Ann Thompson on October 4, 1997, in Ottawa, Illinois.

Herman retired from GE after 30 years in the mixing building. He enjoyed spending his free time going to garage sales and thrifting, photographing flowers, and spending time with his children, grandchildren, and siblings, especially in his later years.

Herman is survived by his wife, Sue Ann, of 29 years; two daughters, Mandi (Jorge) Toribio of Cary, Ill. and Elisa (John) Herr of Magnolia, Ill.; grandchildren: Anna Toribio, David Toribio, Jade Syverson, and Bailey Herr; and one great-grandchild; brothers, Leon (Sally) Mills of San Marcos, Texas, Robert (Nancy) Mills of Compton, Ill., and Ed Mills of Mendota, Ill.; sisters: Dora Messer of Earlville, Ill., Milly (Mike) Kyler of Malta, Ill., Bonnie (Tim) Albert of Utica, Ill., and Carolyn Mills of Peru, Ill.; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; grandson David Syverson; brother Carl Mills; sister in law Sally Mills, brother in law Luther Messer.

Burial will be in Ottawa, Ill., at a later date.
