Henry Thomas Huff, 71, Birdseye, passed away at 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 22, 2017, at his residence.

He was born June 11, 1945, in Kyana, Indiana to Thomas Franklin and Evelyn (Basinger) Huff. He was united in marriage to Linda S. Welp on May 5, 1979, in Siberia, Indiana.

Henry was a retired manager at Best Chairs in Ferdinand; was a member of Bethlehem Masonic Lodge #574 F&AM in Birdseye and the Bethel Christian Church in Doolittle Mills; and enjoyed gardening, caring for his animals, fishing, talking with friends and reading.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Carrender; a brother who died in infancy, Curtis Huff; niece, Kenneta Merder; and nephew, John Gilmore.

He is survived by his wife, Linda S. Huff of Birdseye; one sister, Lola (Kenneth) Gilmore of Birdseye; his sister-in-law, Karen (Kenneth) Eaton of English; one niece, Rhonda Hochgesang of Jasper; four nephews, Daniel Gilmore of Huntingburg, Jim Gilmore of Sumter, South Carolina, Jason Eaton of St. Croix, and Christopher Eaton of Franklin; by great nieces and great nephews.

Funeral services for Henry Huff will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial to follow at Cox Cemetery near Kyana.  Reverend Jack Wilson will officiate at the service.

Friends may call for visitation at the Nass & Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Vigil services by the Birdseye Order of the Eastern Star #590 and Masonic Lodge #574 will be held at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Birdseye Masonic Lodge, the Shriners Hospitals for Children or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
