Henrietta Schmitt, 96

Henrietta Schmitt, 96, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 1:04 p.m. Saturday, December 20, 2014, at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper.

She was born in Jasper, Indiana on January 16, 1918 to Henry J. and Catherine (Stratman) Schmitt.

Henrietta retired from Kimball International in the accounting department and had also worked for Jasper Desk and Jasper Chair Companies.

She is a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella.

She enjoyed her volunteer work at Memorial Hospital & Health Care Center in Jasper, was avid bowler, also enjoyed her Card Club and music.

She is survived by her sister, Theresa Holder of Hemet, Cali.; brother, Ambrose Schmitt and wife, Sally, of Jasper; several nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death are three sisters, Mary Catherine Schmitt, Roberta Schmitt and Anna Horney; and four brothers, Leo, Jerome, Henry Jr. and Sylvester Schmitt.

Funeral services for Henrietta Schmitt will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014, in St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. Tuesday until service time in St. Joseph Catholic Church.
