Help Marge celebrate a century
Marge Ruhe was born on January 16, 1925, and will celebrate her 100th birthday on Thursday, January 16th.

Margaret A. (Pieper) Ruhe, was the daughter of Joseph and Rosa (Heichelbech) Pieper. Her siblings included Anna Marie Reyling, Henry, Veronica Meinking, Ed, Leroy, Al and Joe.
Marge was born and raised on a farm in Dubois. She attended Bender School in Dubois through the eighth grade. She worked at St. Mary of the Woods in Terre Haute at the age of 15 and then did housework for a family in Cincinnati, Ohio until she was 18. She then returned to Dubois County and worked at Jasper Wood Products until age 26.
Marge met Art Ruhe at a dance at “Billy Neu’s”, and they were married in St. Celestine Church on September 26, 1950. Together they had five children: Stan (Mary) Ruhe of Jasper, Karen Ruhe of Cleveland, Tenn., Connie (George) Dilger of Ferdinand, Mary Kay who died in 1976, and Paul Ruhe of Ferdinand. She has four grandchildren: Ashley (Shawn) O’Connor, Phil (Kristen) Ruhe both of Jasper, Ted (Danielle) Dilger of Sellersburg, and Daniel (Kerri) Dilger of Ferdinand and five great-grandchildren, Anna, Evan, and Elin Ruhe, and Cecilia and Clara Dilger.
Marge enjoys attending Catholic mass at Christ the King in Ferdinand, daily phone calls with her brother Joe, and spending time with her family and friends. Being an athlete herself in her younger years, she also enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and now enjoys watching her great-grandchildren at their events.
Besides having good genes (her mother, Rosa, lived to the age of 106!), Marge attributes being blessed with so many years to her strong faith in God and never sitting down. She has always preferred to be on the go!
To help celebrate this milestone occasion, her family is asking friends and relatives to shower Marge with birthday cards. You can send them to:
