Helen M. Oser, 90

Helen M. Oser, 90, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 11:40 p.m. on Thursday (May 7, 2015) at home.

Helen was born on March 1, 1925 to Henry T. and Velvia (Bufkin) Skaggs. She married Carl Oser on September 25, 1948 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg, Indiana. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1996.

Helen was a clerk for Jasper and Chicago, Clairmont, and EH Hamilton truck lines.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper, the St. Ann’s Society, and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.

She enjoyed gardening, and volunteered at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church where she was on the bereavement committee, counted money, and stuffed bulletins. She also volunteered at the Dubois County Community Food Bank.

She is survived by two sons, Michael Oser and his wife Patty of Jasper and Rick Oser and his wife Tammy of Indianapolis; one daughter, Julie Aldridge and her husband John of Radcliff, Ky.; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson.

Preceding her in death besides her husband are one daughter, Mary Jane Hochgesang, three brothers, Irvin, Raymond, and Bobby Skaggs, and four sisters, Iola Ferguson, Mildred Rohlman, Juanita Perkins, and Geneva Lannan.

Funeral services for Helen M. Oser, will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, with burial to follow in Fairview Cemetery in Jasper, Indiana.

Friends may call from 3:00-8:00p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2015, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. The St. Ann’s Society will pray a rosary at 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home. The D.A.V. Auxiliary will conduct a service at 6:00 p.m.
