Helen M. Englert, 94

Helen M. Englert, age 94, of Jasper, formerly of St. Anthony, passed away at 2:00 a.m. on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana.
Helen was born in Birdseye, Indiana on September 3, 1918 to Hamor and Lula (Taylor) Eckert. She married Theodore C. Englert on September 26, 1939 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on December 28, 1999.
She was a homemaker and member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, the St. Anthony Christian Mothers, and a Charter Member of the Extension Homemakers. She was also a 4-H Leader for many years.
She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
Surviving are three daughters, Cheryl Chapman, and her husband, Ernie, French Lick, Joyce Voegerl and Doris Tucker, both of Jasper; ten grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two step-great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death besides her husband are one daughter Linda Welp, two granddaughters, Amy Voegerl and Amanda Chapman, and one brother Burton Eckert.
Funeral services for Helen M. Englert will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday (September 5, 2013) at St. Anthony Catholic Church with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Wednesday (September 4, 2013) at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel and one hour before services at the church.
