Helen B. Neukam, 90

Helen B. Neukam, age 90 of Dubois, passed away at 1:04 p.m. on Wednesday (November 6, 2013) at Northwood Good Samaritan Retirement Community in Jasper, IN.

Helen was born in Dubois County, Indiana on March 21, 1923 to John and Anna (Meyer) Bauer.

She married Clifford L. Neukam on June 16, 1945 in St. John’s Lutheran Church at the Dubois Crossroads. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2010.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville where she taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and served on the flower committee.

She was a nature lover, and enjoyed gardening, sewing, flower arranging and cooking.

She is survived by one daughter, Delores Neukam of Dubois, IN; two sons, Gary Neukam of Dubois, IN, and Lloyd Neukam and his wife Shirley, of Jasper, IN; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Preceding her in death besides her husband is one great grandchild, Payton Andrews. Also three sisters: Marie Gentry, Lavina Bauer, and Lucille Bauer who died in infancy, and six brothers: Elmer, Adolph, Fred, Martin, Otto and Willis Bauer.

Funeral services for Helen B. Neukam will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 11, 2013 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Haysville, Indiana, with burial to follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Haysville. Rev. Charla Grieves will officiate.

Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 10, 2013, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper. WELCA will hold a memorial service at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
