Top finishers of Heartland Half Marathon could win up to $500
Plans are underway for the 5th annual “Heartland Half Marathon, 5K & Team Challenge” to be held on Saturday, September 3.
New for this year is the addition of prize money for the top three overall males and females in the half marathon race.
Overall male and female first place finishers will receive $500 each, second place finishers will get $250, and third place will collect $100 each.
Registration is open for all events! Forms can be picked up at the Dubois County Visitors Center or register online atwww.heartlandhalfmarathon.com. Register before June 19th to get the early-bird rate of $50 for the half marathon and $20 for the 5K & team challenge participants. Costs will increase June 20th to $60 for half marathoners and $25 for the 5K & team challenge participants.
The 2015 event allowed the Heartland Half Marathon committee to present $16,150.61 in proceeds to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center’s Phillip R. Dawkins Heart & Vascular Center. A total of 691 participants took part in the half marathon, 5K, and team challenge. Help us meet our goal of 1,000 participants in 2016!
The event is hosted by DC MultiSport, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting health and wellness while giving back to local communities, and is once again organizing the race, with Memorial Hospital serving as the corporate sponsor. Ten percent of the proceeds from the event will go toward the DC Multisport endowment with remaining proceeds going to the Phillip R. Dawkins Heart & Vascular Center.
