Health Department offering Covid-19/RSV/flu vaccinations

This is the first fall and winter virus season, where vaccines are available for the three viruses responsible for most hospitalizations – COVID-19, RSV, and flu.  For those wanting to protect themselves from one or all three of these viruses, the Dubois County Health Department (DCHD) is now offering all three vaccines on a daily basis. 

Covid-19- CDC recommends everyone 6 months and older get an updated COVID-19 vaccine to protect against COVID-19 illness. This vaccine is only available to patients that haven’t received a COVID -19 vaccine in the past 8 weeks. DCHD has received updated COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer-BioNTech for pediatric patients 6 months to 11 years old and Moderna for patients 12 years and older. 

RSV- Individuals 60 and older are now eligible for the new Abrysvo RSV vaccination. If you are at higher risk of severe RSV disease this vaccine could help prevent serious illness. 

FLU- Everyone 6 months and older are eligible for the flu vaccine. This vaccination is particularly important for people who are at higher risk of serious complication from influenza.  DCHD has both high dose (65+) and standard flu vaccines available. 

Patients need to have their ID’s and insurance information. Please bring your COVID-19 cards if available. 

All three of these vaccines will remain available at the Dubois County Health Department from 8:00am – 3:30pm Monday thru Friday.  No appointment needed.    The drive thru option is offered for both Flu and Covid-19 to those 12 years of age and older.

Esta es la primera temporada viral de otoño e invierno en la que hay vacunas disponibles para tres virus responsables de la mayoría de las hospitalizaciones: COVID-19, VRS y gripe. Para aquellos que quieran protegerse de uno o los tres virus, el Departamento de Salud del Condado de Dubois (DCHD) ahora ofrece las tres vacunas diariamente. 

COVID-19: CDC recomienda que todas las personas de 6 meses en adelante reciban una vacuna de COVID-19 actualizada para protegerse contra la enfermedad de COVID-19. Esta vacuna esta disponible solo a pacientes que no han recibdo una vacuna de COVID-19 en las ultimas ocho semanas. El Departamento de Salud del Condado de Dubois ha recibido vacunas de COVID-19 actualizadas de Pfizer-BioNTech para pacientes pediátricos de 6 meses a 11 años y Moderna para pacientes de 12 años en adelante. 

VRS (Virus Respiratorio Sincitial): Las personas de 60 años o mas ahora son elegibles para la nueva vacuna Abryso VRS. Si tiene un mayor riesgo de sufrir una enfermedad grave por VRS, esta vacuna podría ayudar a prevenir enfermedades graves. 

GRIPE: todas las personas mayores de 6 meses son elegibles para recibir la vacuna contra la gripe. Esta vacuna es particularmente para las personas que tienen un mayor riesgo de sufrir complicaciones graves por la influenza. DCHD tiene disponibles vacunas contra la gripe estándar y de dosis alta (65+).

Los pacientes deben tener su identificación y información de seguro. Por favor traer sus tarjetas de vacuna de COVID-19. 

Las tres vacunas permanecerán disponibles en el Departamento de Salud del Condado de Dubois de 8:00 am a 3:30 pm de lunes a viernes. No se necesita cita previa. La opción de autoservicio se ofrece tanto para la gripe como para el COVID-19 para mayores de 12 años.
